Confirmation courses abroad

Confirmation course (“ripari”) is an integral part of Finnish youth culture. Confirmation instruction for young Finns living abroad is organized, among others, by the Seamen’s Churches in Hamburg and London, Finnish home parishes, and Christian organizations.

Other Providers of Confirmation Instruction

Young people belonging to the Finnish Seamen’s Church in Northern Germany district can participate in confirmation camps in Finland organized by Saksan suomalaisen kirkollisen työn keskus, SKTK (Finnish Church Work Centre in Germany). Parishes in Finland organize a wide range of confirmation instruction options every year. As a first step, it is recommended to contact the priest responsible for confirmation instruction in your own parish (the parish of which you were most recently a member while living in Finland). Various Christian organizations in Finland also organize confirmation instruction. International confirmation instruction in Finland is organized, among others, by the Finnish Association for Children and Youth and the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission.
