The Seamen’s Church operates in Finland, abroad, and at sea

The Finnish Seamen’s Church is with you at home, around the world, and at sea. We walk alongside you whenever you need us.

We maintain Finnish seamen’s churches in Finland and elsewhere in Europe. We have been working for the benefit of seafarers and Finns living abroad since 1875.

In accordance with the cooperation agreement concluded with the Church Council, the operational leadership and coordination of the Church’s work among Finns abroad was transferred in its entirety to the Seamen’s Church at the beginning of 2025.

Seamen’s churches in Finland

In Finnish ports, we serve all seafarers according to the principle of international reciprocity. Our services are also used by various groups and heavy transport drivers, particularly in Turku and Vuosaari.

Congregations around the World

In Finnish congregations abroad, services in Finnish, church ceremonies, and many other events are organized. Seasonal chaplains and cantors work in Spain during the winter season, and traveling chaplains visit different parts of the world around Christmas.
